I should be able to give a field trip update sometime next week, I am working on getting buses booked. Once we have the buses booked, I will have a better idea of an exact schedule. We are set for March 26, 2010, and have already reserved our spots at the museums.

All classes will be working out of chapter 3 in the Glencoe book. This is one of my favorite chapters! We will be covering square roots, irrational numbers, and finally pythagorean theorem! I feel that this is a really important chapter, and also a really fun and interesting one! Hopefully all of you enjoy it as much as I do!

Parent Shadow day is Friday, 10/2 from 7:45am - 11:15am. Please fill out the form that was sent home with students today if you plan to attend. This is also a half day of student attendance.

Don't forget to bring in your money for the Tape the Teacher to the Wall fundraiser! You have until 10am, Thursday, 10/1 to turn in your money, and we will to the actual taping at 2pm on 10/1 in the cafeteria.

Our next fundraiser for our field trip has begun! The Tape the Teacher to the Wall fundrasier will run from today to Thursday, 10/1. Students can purchase tape for $1 per foot from their advisory teachers. The top 2 teachers will be taped to the the wall at 2pm in the cafeteria on 10/1. Participating teachers are Mrs. Sedabres, Ms. Mayfield, Mrs. Craig, Mr. Nelson and Mr. Utgaard. All students that purchase tape will get to participate, even if the teacher they chose does not win.

Pre-Algebra Block 2 - Lesson 2 - Practice & 1-12, 16-19, 21-23, 29-30

For our first fundraiser, we will be allowing students to wear hats and sunglasses on Friday, 9/4. In order to wear a hat, students will be required to pay their advisory teachers $1, sunglasses will cost $2. Students will then be given a sticker to put on their ID's to prove that they paid to wear their hats or sunglasses. This money will help us fund our field trip, which is still in the planning phase. More information to come on the fieldtrip soon!

The week of 8/24

This week we will be getting into the swing of a normal schedule. Blocks 1 and 3 (Algebra 1) will be starting off in Chapter 1 of the Glencoe book. Block 2 (Pre-Algebra) will begin the week with a pre-test and we will go from there. Most likely we will start at the beginning of the Saxon book. I will try to update homework assignments on here daily. Algebra 1 will have homework Monday night, but I am not totally sure what it will be yet :) Pre-Algebra shouldn't have any homework until Tuesday night.

I will also be updating this regularly with information on field trips, school dances, fundraisers, and other important information that relates to the Mississippi House. Be sure to stay tuned for those updates!
